In a difficult situation Boxer Ryan Garcia The case took a new turn Thursday when California prosecutors announced they had indicted a defendant on charges of vandalizing a Beverly Hills hotel.
Los Angeles Garcia was charged with one misdemeanor count of criminal damage to property or criminal mischief with damage over $400, County District Attorney George Gascón said in a press release this week.

Garcia is accused of vandalizing the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills hotel in Beverly Hills on June 8.

“While we are pleased that no one was injured in this incident, the reckless destruction of property shows a blatant and unacceptable disregard for the safety and peace of our community,” Gascón said. “Officers will remain committed to holding those responsible accountable.”
At the time of his arrest last month, Garcia’s lawyer, Darin Chavez, told ESPN that the incident comes at a difficult time for the 25-year-old boxer.
“Ryan has been open about his mental health issues for many years and is currently under a great deal of emotional strain,” Chavez said, adding that Garcia recently lost his mother.

Garcia later apologised on social media, adding: “If you react to words, it means you’re overly sensitive.”

Garcia faces up to a year in prison if convicted. He is due to appear again in court on August 7.
“There’s no way I’m going to jail,” Garcia said in response to the charges.
