Emhoff hits law firm over Trump deal: Report

Former gentleman Doug Emov has reportedly criticized his law firm, Wilkie Farr & Gallagher, for entering into an agreement with the administration to sidestep potential repercussions from President Trump as the White House has focused on other major law firms recently.

Emhoff, who became a partner at Willkie Farr & Gallagher in late January this year, condemned the law firm while addressing attendees at Tzedek’s 2025 dinner. Gala Thursday evening, CNN reported on Saturday, citing a source knowledgeable about the matter.

Emov, a veteran entertainment lawyer, informed guests at the Los Angeles Gala that he voiced his intent to confront Wilkie Farr & Gallagher to contest a prospective Trump executive order, which he considered unconstitutional, but according to CNN, he was ultimately overruled.

Oka reached out to Wilkie Farr and Gallagher for their remarks.

This week, Trump disclosed that his administration had made a deal with Emov’s firm.

Under the agreement announced on Tuesday, the law firm will deliver free legal services valued at approximately $100 million for projects endorsed by the current administration.

The firm will also avoid incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusion criteria in its hiring practices and will not dismiss clients based on their political affiliations.

“Wilkie Farr & Gallagher LLP has made a significant commitment to engage with President Trump and his administration to put an end to the weaponization of the judicial system and legal profession,” the White House stated on Tuesday.

This marks the third arrangement Trump has established with a prominent law firm since assuming office in January. The White House has reached agreements with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, as well as contracts with Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison; the latter firm agreed to offer $40 million in pro bono services.

Trump has been targeting other significant law firms that have ties to individuals involved in the investigation pertaining to him.

The lawyers from Willkie Farr & Gallagher represented two Georgia election workers who filed a lawsuit against Rudy Giuliani for defamation. Giuliani accused the two women, who served in Fulton County during the 2020 presidential election, of committing fraud.
