Eminem’s stalker, Matthew David Hughes, found guilty after a second incident at home.

Matthew David Hughes has been convicted of first-degree home invasion and aggravated stalking after unlawfully entering Eminem’s residence, as reported by multiple sources.

The renowned rapper testified during a court hearing on Wednesday, leading the jury to declare 32-year-old Hughes guilty, according to The Guardian. Hughes was arrested in August 2024 after being spotted at Eminem’s home in Clinton Township. He was unable to meet bail conditions and has been incarcerated since. This incident marks Hughes’ second invasion of the rapper’s home.

Previously, Hughes was charged for breaking into Eminem’s Detroit home in 2020 while the artist was present. Eminem reported that Hughes was standing behind him when he woke up, and a police officer testified that Hughes had told Eminem he was there to kill him.

Additionally, Hughes managed to enter a former home of Eminem’s in the Rochester Hills area of Detroit in 2019. He conversed with the new homeowner, claiming he was “looking for his brother Marshall,” and subsequently broke into a guest house on the property. For that offense, he was found guilty and served a 90-day prison sentence.

After the 2020 incident, Hughes avoided prison time through a plea deal. In September 2021, a judge imposed a five-year probation, but Hughes violated those terms with an unrelated assault later that year, as reported by The Guardian. He then faced another prison sentence but was paroled in May 2024.

Hughes is set to appear in court for sentencing on June 17, according to the Detroit Free Press.
