Emma Raducanu has found herself repeatedly fielding questions about her rumored romantic relationship with Carlos Alcaraz following some online chatter last week.
Once again, the British tennis player dismissed these speculations.
During a press conference ahead of Wimbledon, which kicks off on Monday, Raducanu was asked to clarify the rumors.
She laughed and smiled at the query, yet firmly stated, “We are just good friends.”
The 22-year-old, who won the US Open in 2021, also addressed these questions in a BBC interview last week, expressing that she finds the situation amusing.
“We’re happy that the internet is enjoying it and we’re providing some entertainment,” Raducanu mentioned.
She and Alcaraz reflected on their journey, stating they would “go a long way” together.
Raducanu garnered attention as she supported Alcaraz during his semi-final match against Roberto Bautista Agut at the 2025 HSBC Championship held at Queen’s Club in London.
The 2025 French Open champion progressed to the finals, claiming his second title at Queens Club with a victory over Czech player Gilli Lehecca, winning 7-5, 6-7 (5), 6-2.
Raducanu, who has been working to regain her form after her thrilling US Open win, faced challenges with injuries and coaching changes early in her career.
However, after reaching the fourth round at Wimbledon last year, she is looking for more success on the grass courts.
On Tuesday, Raducanu will compete against American Anley in a women’s singles match at the Eastbourne International, a tune-up event for Wimbledon.
