Emma Roberts: The Card Collecting Queen

While Emma Roberts is primarily recognized for her roles in Ryan Murphy’s shows like “American Horror Story” and “Scream Queens,” she seems to be carving out a unique identity as a card collecting enthusiast. It’s a surprising twist, really.

This past weekend, she made notable appearances at various Super Bowl parties, including one hosted by Topps’ parent company, Fanatics. On the red carpet, she was seen enthusiastically “ripping” open packs, an experience collectors refer to as a “live break.”

“Oh my god!” exclaimed one host from the “CardVault by Tom Brady” YouTube channel as Roberts unpacked a set of Marvel cards and stumbled upon the coveted “Daredevil” card. It was quite the highlight, echoing excitement more than a bit.

As one observer shared, “Emma just tore open a box of Marvel Sapphires for a collector who won a prize during intermission of ‘Card Vault by Tom Brady’ on Fanatics Live. Emma’s first pack contained Daredevil’s 1/1 Padparadscha facsimile card.” Oops, indeed.

The New Yorker noted last year that Roberts and her fiancé are regulars at Tom Brady’s CardVault, both in New York City and East Hampton. She once found an Aaron Judge rookie card there, which is pretty impressive.

Last year, she also engaged fans by drawing rare cards at Fanatics Fest in New York. The event saw the likes of Shohei Ohtani’s rookie card amid discussions with prominent figures like Tom Brady and Logan Paul about the elusive “missing” Steph Curry card. On a fun note, she starred in a promo that humorously parodied “The Sopranos” for the 2025 Bowman Chrome baseball card.

“We’re going after Tom,” Roberts shared with The New Yorker last year, expressing her quest for a rare Brady card set to release in 2023. This particular card is rumored to portray him as a baseball player drafted by the Montreal Expos in 1995. It’s interesting that one collector is reportedly willing to pay $500,000 for it.

Roberts’ enthusiasm has ingratiated her into the world of billionaire Fanatics founder Michael Rubin, whose lavish events often gather big names like Brady, Kevin Hart, and Travis Scott.

At a celebrity gathering before Saturday’s Super Bowl, she took a picture with Rubin, mingling with various stars from both the sports and entertainment realms, including Ari Emanuel, Jeffrey Katzenberg, and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. Quite the crowd, wouldn’t you say?
