Emmy Award-winning actor Paul Walter Hauser addressed his life-altering changes and his new “I Am Second” video during an appearance on a TV show. Stephen Colbert’s Late Show Last week, he encouraged viewers to watch the film on YouTube, calling it a “beautiful story” about how he and his wife survived a failed marriage.
Hauser and his wife Amy appeared in four new films, I Am Second. video This month, we shared how faith in Christ not only saved their souls, but also their relationships. I Am Second is a nonprofit organization that publishes videos of celebrities testifying to their faith.
Hauser is best known for his roles in: Richard Jewell, Black Bird, Cruella and me, tonia. He recently won a Primetime Emmy Award for playing serial killer Larry Hall in the film. black bird.
“This really changed my life because I got sober halfway through filming,” he told Colbert. black bird. “You know, I was going through a tough time personally. To put it vaguely and safely, I wasn’t my best self. But I played this serial killer, And you’re in New Orleans, which is a very spiritual place… There’s an atmosphere of dark spirituality there sometimes.
“So, halfway through filming, I sobered up and started going to therapy. That was kind of the catalyst for all the great things that happened, including the healing of my family.”
Hauser then pointed to the “I Am Second” bracelet on his wrist.
“I made a video documentary called “I Am Second.” If you watch it on YouTube, you can see the whole story of my wife and I. There we talk about our problems and how to fix them. , talking very vulnerable about how they got back together.Together,” Hauser said. “That’s a very beautiful story.”
In his “I Am Second” video, Hauser talked about how Amy filed for divorce while she was pregnant with their first child. He began to abuse alcohol and contemplated suicide. And he found Christ.
“I think if you boil down our story, it’s the story of two broken people,” Amy said in the video. “This is a story about faith, love, and lots of laughter. And it’s a story about how no matter how far you run, Jesus is always chasing you and you’re never far away.”
