Last week, an employee was arrested for the murder of a trucking company CEO, found in the throat in a burning building in a suburban Chicago.
Crestwood firefighters discovered the body of Dane Koteski, CEO and president of ATG Truckload, on the second floor of his business, as the fire was burned on March 5th. The Chicago Sun-Times reported.
According to the autopsy, the 46-year-old trucking boss died of a neck injury from a sharp object.
An unidentified Koteski's employee was appointed suspect and later arrested about 145 miles northeast at a truck stop in Dutch, Michigan.
The crime was considered an isolated incident targeting Kotesky. WGN9 reportedwithout giving accurate motivation.
Koteski's neighbors said he is an active member of the local Serbian church and the auto club. He leaves behind a 13-year-old son, according to an online fundraiser.
“This is so sad that my neighbor is killed. It's beyond fear,” Darlene Adams, who lives across the street, told the outlet.
“It appears he's going to work early, going home, looking after his dog and looking at his son,” Adams added the murdered CEO.
Police are still investigating as the suspect is waiting to be handed over to Illinois.
