Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) endorsed Donald Trump for president shortly after the New Hampshire primary was called within minutes of polls closing.
“We've seen enough,” Cornyn told X. “To beat Biden, the Republican Party needs to unite around a single candidate, and President Trump is the choice of Republican voters. It's clear,” he said.
Although a majority of Senate Republicans currently support Mr. Trump, Sen. John Barrasso (R. (Wyoming) only.
Barrasso is also the only one of the Three Johns, the three most likely successors to Republican leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), to have endorsed the president. Ta. Sen. John Thune (R-South Dakota), who like McConnell was less favorable toward Trump, came in third.
All five House Republican leaders support Trump.
Cornyn's support is indicative of the mood surrounding the nomination of a popular former president.
His post continued:
The Biden domestic policy failures, including the border crisis and record high inflation, and the foreign policy failures that have emboldened our adversaries and made the world a more dangerous place, must be stopped for another four years. I am proud of President Trump's accomplishments in his first term, including the confirmation of 234 federal judges, including three members of the United States Supreme Court. Passed historic tax reform, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Release our latent energy. And it produced the best economy for all Americans in my lifetime. I will continue to work to win a Republican Senate majority and elect President Trump in 2024.
I've seen enough. To defeat Biden, the Republican Party will need to unite around a single candidate, and President Trump is clearly the choice of Republican voters. Four more years of domestic and foreign policy failures, including the Biden border crisis and record high inflation…

Democrats currently have a 51-49 advantage in the Senate, but the electoral map favors Republicans.
