England begin WXV 1 defence with crushing victory over USA | England women’s rugby union team

England won 61-21 against the USA in Vancouver, starting the WXV 1 defense and scoring nine tries.

The world's No. 1 team, the Red Roses, were slow to start at BC Place Stadium but scored four tries in the first half, two of which went to full-back Ellie Kildan.

The United States caught up with captain Kate Zachary's third try in the second half, but England continued to improve as winger Bo Westcombe-Evans made her debut with a try and Zoe Harrison scored 16 points. He was able to secure the victory and emerge a clear winner.

England hooker Lark Atkin-Davies powered over from a lineout in the 11th minute and quickly crossed again for Kildan to advance from inside his own half and touch down under the posts.

The Americans achieved a good result just after the half-hour mark when Alev Kelter collected his own kick, ducked to his right and dashed clear.

England regained their advantage with Georgia Bullock and captain Alex Matthews scoring two tries in the space of five minutes before half-time.
