Argentina pulled off an astonishing comeback in World Cup history, defeating Egypt 3-2 on Tuesday afternoon.
With just 15 minutes left in regulation, the defending champions found themselves down 2-0 against a formidable Egyptian team.
Cristian Romero scored the first goal for Argentina in the 79th minute, making it 2-1. Then, the legendary Lionel Messi leveled the score at 2-2 just four minutes later. Finally, 25-year-old Chelsea forward Enzo Fernandes capped the incredible turnaround with a header that secured victory two minutes into stoppage time.
The Argentine supporters erupted with joy after Fernandes’ goal, and the excitement was palpable at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, where the atmosphere seemed to vibrate with energy.
Enzo’s girlfriend, Valentina Cervantes, a model and content creator, was particularly thrilled. Right after the match, she took to Instagram, sharing a series of videos reflecting her excitement.
The first video featured a selfie with her surrounded by enthusiastic Argentine fans celebrating the goal.
In another clip, she captured the team celebrating on the field post-game. Fernandes was caught on camera waving and blowing kisses, not only to her but also to family members nearby.
Fernandes and Cervantes, who were high school sweethearts, share two children: a daughter named Olivia and a son named Benjamin. They briefly separated in 2024 but seem to be happily back together now.
While Fernandes was already regarded as a talented player, this World Cup moment has truly turned him into a global sensation.
