Renowned American magician David Copperfield allegedly had dinner with late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and several of his victims, according to court documents released Wednesday.

Lawyer Sigrid McCauley asked Epstein's accuser Joanna Sjoberg and his ex-girlfriend and accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell if they had ever met Copperfield.

“Yes,” she said. This document is part of her May 2016 deposition.

“Someone called me from home and said he was there and if I wanted to come over for dinner, I could meet him,” Shoberg said. “So when I got home, he hadn't come yet…and there was another girl there that I had never met or seen before. She looked younger. ”

Mr. Sjöberg later said Mr. Copperfield “did a magic trick” at dinner and said he was a friend of Mr. Epstein. Mr. Shoberg said of Mr. Copperfield, who was previously accused of sexual charges. assaulted a teenage model in 1988; Court documents say he asked her if she was aware that the girls were being paid to find other girls.

“Did he say anything specific about it?” McCauley asked.

“No,” Sjöberg said.

Dozens of names previously redacted from court documents in lawsuit against Jeffrey Epstein's His ex-girlfriend and accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell, has been released on order by a New York federal judge.

U.S. District Judge Loretta Preska ordered their release in December, but gave Jane and John two weeks if they wanted to appeal.

The names were included in the docket without prior redactions that concealed big names, including former President Bill Clinton, his long-estranged aide Doug Band, Prince Andrew, and French modeling agent Jean-Luc Brunel. It was revealed in a series of 40 documents posted. He, like Epstein, died while awaiting trial.

Mr. Epstein had many prominent connections, including a former U.S. president, a foreign prime minister, and the British prime minister. prince andrew, as well as Hollywood stars, leading academics, people from the modeling and fashion industries, and other celebrities. Some of the names were previously known through other means, even though they were hidden from public view by the lawsuit.

Many of the names belong to people who have not been accused of wrongdoing, including Mr. Clinton, who declined to ask the court to suppress his name.
