Epstein's associate discloses ties to Clinton in recent DOJ interview

Ghislaine Maxwell Discusses Clinton Global Initiative

Ghislaine Maxwell, an associate of Jeffrey Epstein, stated that her role was “very central” to the beginnings of the Clinton Global Initiative, as revealed in a recently released interview transcript by the Department of Justice.

The interview occurred between July 24 and 25, while Maxwell was incarcerated in federal prison in Tallahassee, Florida. U.S. Associate Attorney General Todd Blanche conducted the interview.

During the discussion, Maxwell detailed her involvement in the Clinton Global Initiative, which brings together a diverse group, ranging from nonprofit leaders and business figures to governmental officials and grassroots activists. When asked about her part in this “startup,” Maxwell affirmed, “I was. I would say it’s very central to that, yes.”

She mentioned that Epstein was “very enthusiastic” about her participation in the initiative. She added, “[Epstein] supported me to help them, but I think he might have tried to insert himself in some way. That didn’t surprise me at all,” referring to her work with the initiative. “And I was able to catch him on the phone and he never always agreed to what I wanted to do.”

Maxwell also noted that she had attended the Davos conference at least once with former President Bill Clinton, but insisted she had never been to Epstein’s private island. She described meeting Clinton at a White House event, later forming a friendly relationship through former Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine.

“Once, certainly. And I think I might have been twice, but I don’t remember,” Maxwell said regarding her visits to Davos.

Maxwell additionally clarified that Bill Clinton was “not a friend of Epstein,” though they knew each other. She claimed that she met the former Secretary of State on a flight, though the details were a bit hazy: “I want to say—again, don’t hold me to it—but I think it was on a flight from an island.”

She recalled attending Chelsea Clinton’s wedding with her ex-boyfriend, emphasizing that Epstein wasn’t present at the event.

Maxwell’s attorney, David Oscar Marx, commented on the interview’s findings, stating that the newly released documents demonstrate Maxwell’s willingness to answer questions thoroughly and provide supporting evidence, even after years of detention.
