Mayor Eric Adams plans to attend the inauguration after President-elect Donald Trump specifically asked Big Apple leaders to come to Washington, DC.
Hitzoner will also attend a private party with newly sworn-in President Trump.

“As the Mayor has said repeatedly, America has elected new national leadership and we must work together to build a safer, stronger, and more affordable city in New York City. ” he added.
After learning of the mayor's absence, Trump had instructed his team to contact City Hall to extend the invitation.
Adams has been mum in recent weeks about whether he will attend the inauguration, as parts of the mayor's team have asked Trump for a pardon to avoid a historic criminal trial in April.
The invitation came days after Adams traveled to Florida for a meeting with President Trump, where he claimed his case was not discussed.
Adams took time out of her schedule to attend two Martin Luther King Day celebrations, one in Brooklyn and one in Harlem.
