Eric Dickerson Critiques NFL’s Super Bowl Halftime Choice

Hall of Fame running back Eric Dickerson has voiced strong disapproval of the NFL’s decision to feature Bad Bunny as the halftime performer for the Super Bowl.

At 65 years old, Dickerson deemed the NFL “one of the most corrupt organizations” and expressed his belief that the league prioritizes financial gain over all else. In an interview with TMZ, he remarked, “I don’t understand why they chose that. The NFL does things that confuse people. So they’ll do anything for money.” He added a note of gratitude regarding his own time in the league, saying, “I thank God for the opportunity to play in the National Football League.”

Moreover, he questioned the choice of Bad Bunny, highlighting that there are many talented artists local to San Francisco where the event is taking place. “Look, why don’t we get someone here from home? How about someone from here in San Francisco, all the artists who are in the area to perform at the Super Bowl? Anyone (English speaking), you know?” he suggested.

When the topic of Bad Bunny’s performance in Spanish came up, Dickerson’s confusion grew. He, like others, remains dissatisfied with the selection, as various conservatives worry about Bad Bunny’s perceived “woke” values being showcased in front of a vast audience.

White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt also commented, noting that President Donald Trump would prefer a performance from Kid Rock instead of Bad Bunny, as he is set to attend Turning Point USA’s “All-American” halftime show on Sunday.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, however, defended the choice of Bad Bunny by stating, “Listen, Bad Bunny is one of the great artists in the world, and I think that was proven last night. That’s one of the reasons we chose him.” He continued, emphasizing that the platform should be used to unite people, and he believes Bad Bunny understands the significance of this opportunity.

On Sunday, the Seattle Seahawks are set to go up against the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX at 6:30 p.m. ET.
