Eric Dickerson expresses frustration about Bad Bunny during Super Bowl halftime

Eric Dickerson’s Warning to Bad Bunny

NFL Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson has voiced his opinion, suggesting that Bad Bunny should “stay away” from the Super Bowl halftime show if he truly dislikes America.

In a conversation with a TMZ photographer near LAX, the former Rams running back expressed his thoughts on the pop star’s views about the nation. He seems to think that such statements shouldn’t resonate in such a monumental sports event.

“I’m from America,” Dickerson stated. “I love my country. If someone doesn’t like the US, they should just leave and stop coming here,” he added, emphasizing his patriotism.

However, Dickerson shifted his stance somewhat as he acknowledged that Bad Bunny is a US citizen, being from Puerto Rico, a US territory. “I understand Puerto Rico is part of the United States,” he noted, “but it’s not *of* the USA. That’s how I see it. That’s what I feel.” It sounds complicated, doesn’t it?

While Dickerson didn’t disclose specific details about the “information” he received regarding Bad Bunny, it’s worth mentioning that both President Trump and other Republicans have expressed their outspoken disapproval of the artist’s selection for the show.

Recently, Bad Bunny made headlines by being named the top artist on Billboard’s Top Latin Artists Chart for the 21st Century. This was particularly significant when he announced his “DeBí TiRAR MáS FOToS” tour in September, which notably didn’t include any stops in the continental US due to worries surrounding possible ICE raids at concert venues.

The “BAILE INoLVIDABLE” singer, during his “Saturday Night Live” season premiere, cleverly tackled his critics, joking that if they can’t understand his native language, it might take “four months to learn.” That’s quite a humorous way to address the backlash.

Dickerson, however, remains serious about his stance. “If Bad Bunny says anything negative about the US, he shouldn’t come here to perform,” he reiterated. “Just stay in your own country.” It’s clear he feels strongly about this issue.

The upcoming LX Super Bowl is set for February 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. It’ll be interesting to see how this all unfolds.
