America’s Tribute: Reflections on National Pride
In a special message for Breitbart News, Sen. Eric Schmidt (R-Missouri) shared his thoughts as America approaches its 250th anniversary, emphasizing the nation’s passionate spirit and determination.
Schmidt described the U.S. as a place where restless individuals strive for what seems impossible. “I love the United States of America because we are a nation of restless people who refuse to settle,” he expressed, highlighting a collective desire for bold accomplishments.
He reminisced about the courage of ancestors who laughed in the face of challenges, crossing oceans to create a new republic. “When skeptics labeled the expanse of our land as too daunting to conquer, Americans took on the wilderness and transformed it into a thriving nation,” he said, recalling past victories, including those against tyranny during the world wars.
During World War I, when conflict ravaged Europe, Schmidt noted America’s resolve to intervene. “We crossed the seas and quelled the tyrant. In World War II, against an even darker evil, we again stepped up,” he emphasized, asserting that Americans not only confront darkness but eradicate it.
The senator also acknowledged modern achievements, particularly in space exploration. He stated that the same audacious spirit persists across generations, rejecting limits imposed by conventional wisdom. “When they say we can’t do it, we respond, ‘Watch over us,'” he remarked.
As the 250th birthday of America approaches, Schmidt said, “Let us always remember that we are a true people, a true nation with a proud history and a vital future. Our mission is to continue to lead, innovate, and explore—not from arrogance, but out of respect for the legacy left by our ancestors and our responsibility to future generations.”
