Eric Anderson, known for creating “Felicity” and “Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter,” has died after a “painful” battle with cancer. He was 67 years old.
Anderson’s wife, Saxon Traynor, confirmed to Fox News Digital that her husband passed away on Saturday, June 1.
“Eric was my best friend and I was lucky to love him and be loved by him,” she said. “He was an extraordinary man with keen insight, intense curiosity and a deep interest and concern for others.”
“He faced each day of his difficult battle with cancer with courage, determination and humour.”

“And no matter how bad things got, Eric remained grateful for all the joys he had in life and for his loving family and friends. Eric and I want to thank everyone who was and still is a part of EOLOA – they provide us all with a great service.”

Anderson has appeared in more than 100 films since breaking into the entertainment industry in the early ’80s as a soldier in “For Love and Honor.”
His next role was not only his film debut but also one of his most memorable: as Rob Dyer in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter.

He followed that up with another memorable role as pitcher Bobby Stang in “Bay City Blues.” Anderson continued his acting career with appearances in “Murder Files,” “Hard Copy,” “Tour of Duty” and “Thirty Something.”

Anderson first appeared in the 1998 pilot episode of “Felicity” as Dr. Edward Porter, Keri Russell’s father, and later reprised the role in several episodes of the popular Warner Bros. television series.

His film credits include multiple episodes of NYPD Blue, The Outer Limits, Boomtown, Knight Rider, Bosch and Close to Home.
Anderson’s final project was voicing the character Henry Reed in the podcast series “The Big Lie” in 2022.
