Erik Spoelstra Inks 8-Year, $120+ Million Extension With Miami Heat; Most Committed Coaching Money In NBA History

The Miami Heat have signed head coach Erik Spoelstra to a record-breaking contract extension, securing the franchise's longest-serving coach for even more tenures.

Spoelstra and the Heat have agreed to an eight-year extension. Associated Press According to undisclosed sources, (AP) reported. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski The 53-year-old's new contract is reportedly worth more than $120 million, according to sources. And if that whopping amount of money isn't special enough, it's made even better by the fact that it's reportedly the highest amount in NBA coaching history. Overall against Miami, Spoelstra is looking good. 29th season, Meanwhile, he is currently in his 16th year as the Heat's head coach. He started working in the video room and was eventually promoted to scout and then assistant coach. In 2008, Spoelstra was selected by team president Pat Riley to succeed him as head coach.

As skipper, Spoelstra has two NBA championships (three franchise-wide) and six Finals appearances.
