Erika Jayne Discusses Domestic Violence Experience

In a recent episode of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” Erika Jayne spoke about her own experience with domestic violence.

While chatting with Denise Richards regarding allegations against her former partner Aaron Phypers, Jayne decided to share her own “recent” situation as a way to connect. She mentioned that she had “nothing to do with my husband” and added that her experience was previously unknown to anyone, referring to it as “water under the bridge.”

Jayne, 54, told fellow cast member Sutton Stracke and Richards that her incident wasn’t an isolated one, saying, “It was very recent. It’s happened a few times, yeah. And about the third time, I was like, ‘This isn’t for me.’”

She expressed frustration about having to call 911, especially since her son is a police officer. “You don’t understand how embarrassing it is,” she said, “to be the mother of a police officer and have to pick up the phone and call 911.” She felt it necessary to inform her family personally, anticipating they might hear about it elsewhere.

Her son, Thomas “Tommy” Zizzo Jr., is a sergeant with the Los Angeles Police Department.

“Look, it stopped at the right time. It’s gone far away, and that’s what it is. Life goes on,” Jayne remarked.

During a confessional, she elaborated on her feelings, sharing that what started as a pleasurable relationship took a dark turn. “I met someone and at first it was fun. I didn’t have any expectations that we would be happy forever,” she reflected. “After a few months, confusion arose.”

Prior to this relationship, Jayne was married to Thomas Zizzo from 1991 to 1996 and later wed Tom Girardi in 2000, filing for divorce in 2020 while still being legally married to him.

Currently, she is dating John “Shrek” McPhee, with whom she was photographed holding hands back in July 2025.

Jayne’s candid discussion coincided with the return of Denise Richards to the show, where Richards also revealed her own struggles, claiming that Phypers had physically assaulted her after undergoing cosmetic surgery.

Richards admitted, “That’s when I really realized there was no hope of salvaging this marriage,” which has led to a legal battle since Phypers filed for divorce in July after six years together.
