Erika Kirk posts popular video of Charlie Kirk recounting their romance

Remembering Charlie Kirk

Erica Kirk shared a heartfelt video featuring her husband, Charlie Kirk, founder and CEO of Turning Point USA, who tragically passed away on Monday. In the clip, he recounts how he met Erica while seated at a burger joint in New York City, with their daughter on his lap.

“Story Time: We’re at a burger in a building in New York City. It was the first time Dada met Mama, right next to this table,” he begins. He reminisces about their first meeting, which started as a job interview and quickly evolved into something much deeper. He described her as beautiful and clever, ultimately realizing he didn’t need more friends, and that’s how their journey began.

Erica’s Tribute to Charlie

Erica captioned the video, “My favorite love story,” which struck a chord, gathering about 2.5 million likes within just 10 hours. Public figures like Brittany Aldean and Terrance K. Williams expressed their support in the comments.

Charlie and Erica’s love story began in 2018 when they met at that restaurant. During past events, Charlie often spoke of their “very long dinner,” noting how quickly he realized she was the one for him. A selfie Erica shared just days before his death marked the five-year anniversary of their meeting, capturing a moment filled with discussions about theology and politics.

Their Journey Together

Charlie proposed in December 2020, and Erica shared a sweet engagement photo, noting, “When God writes your love story, you can marry your best friend.” They tied the knot in May 2021, less than a year later.

Just two days after her husband’s tragic assassination, Erica spoke publicly about the event and his legacy, assuring that the movements he initiated, like campus tours and American Fest 2025, will continue.

During her emotional speech, Erica reflected on their last conversations, saying, “Two days ago, my husband went to see his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Now and forever, he is standing with his Savior, wearing the glorious crown of a martyr.”

She also shared that Charlie’s favorite biblical verse is Ephesians 5:25, which emphasizes the love of a husband for his wife.
