Erika Kirk Shares Candid Thoughts on Those Who Supported Her Husband's Murder

Erica Kirk’s Strong Condemnation of Reactions to Her Husband’s Assassination

Erica Kirk, the CEO of Turning Point USA, expressed her outrage over those who celebrated or justified the assassination of her husband, Charlie Kirk, calling their reactions “very sick.”

Charlie Kirk was fatally shot in September during a lecture at Utah Valley University, at the young age of 31. In a forthcoming interview with CBS News Town Hall, Erica had a pointed message for individuals attempting to rationalize her husband’s murder.

“You’re sick. He’s a human being. Do you think he deserves it? Tell that to my 3-year-old daughter,” Erica stated during her talk with Bari Weiss, CBS News Editor-in-Chief. “Do you want to watch the video of my husband being murdered and laugh, claiming it’s self-inflicted? That’s deeply disturbing for your soul. I pray that God saves you. It’s just so wrong. This online world has dehumanized us all.”

Online, and even in some campus interactions, there have been individuals who praised or defended the assassination. For instance, a student from Hamline University was recorded expressing delight over Charlie Kirk’s shooting.

On a different note, Erica Kirk criticized conspiracy theorists who have propagated false narratives about her husband’s death, explaining that these fabrications only worsened her family’s anguish. “Everything is out in the open. We’re planning to create a beautiful memorial for my husband at Turning Point USA. It will be a spectacular site, almost like a museum for Charlie, my Charlie,” she shared. “But can I ask for one thing? Can we keep one place sacred for my husband’s grave, where he can rest without fear of secular revolutionaries coming to disturb it while my daughter prays there? Just one thing.”
