Back in September, Wojnarowski announced he would be leaving ESPN and attending his alma mater, St. Bonaventure University, to become general manager of the basketball program.
According to The Athletic's Andrew MarchandWoj left a whopping $20 million on the table when he decided to leave ESPN.

I would like to know how much Shams was paid in this contract. Because I know he made a big purchase to show how desperate ESPN was to get Shams to replace Woj. After all, you can't call yourself a “world leader in sports” if your competitors have better insiders than you. That's why the four-letter network snatched him away.
Oh, it's like they say: business is business.
