EU Farmer Protests Expose Unpopularity, Risks of Green Policies

Farmers across Europe in recent weeks have united in protest against the European Union’s stringent environment agenda – a policy approach often cited as a model by U.S. climate activists – and are prompting a reevaluation of some of the most ambitious “green” initiatives pushed by progressive politicians.

The movement, spanning from Germany to Poland, the Netherlands, France, and Romania, highlights a growing unease with the EU’s climate strategy. The “green” agenda is viewed by critics as largely aspirational and disconnected from more pressing issues such as mass migration and the rising cost of living.
