'Euphoria' actor appears completely different following significant weight loss change

The star of “Euphoria,” Barbie Ferreira, showed off her striking new look at the Academy Women’s Luncheon in Los Angeles, leaving many to do a double-take.

Her noticeable weight loss was evident as she posed on the red carpet at the glamorous event on Tuesday.

At 28, the HBO actress looked stunning in a pink minidress that hugged her figure, complete with ruching down the center and cute ruffles at the sleeves and hem.

To finish off her look, Ferreira wore embellished black heels, had pink nails, and opted for a rich burgundy lipstick. Her hair was styled in soft waves, framing her face beautifully.

Ferreira first caught attention for her weight loss in 2024 when she surprised her followers with a picture showing her new slim silhouette.

This transformation led to speculation about whether she might be using Ozempic or similar weight loss treatments, though she hasn’t confirmed or denied those rumors.

Her weight loss journey continued as she appeared at the 2025 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in October, where she strutted down the runway in red lingerie paired with an oversized jean jacket adorned with mini angel wings.

She shared her excitement about the experience on Instagram, saying, “What a crazy side quest. Gotta be an angel today 🪽.”

Recently, she also showcased her legs in a whimsical “Black Swan” costume for Halloween, sharing a post with the message, “Happy Halloween from the swans 🦢.”

Over the years, Ferreira has been a strong advocate for body positivity. In 2023, she spoke about her decision to leave “Euphoria,” citing her dissatisfaction with the portrayal of her character, Cat Hernandez, as the “fat best friend.”

She explained her feelings about the role, saying, “I don’t think she had anywhere to go,” and added that it seemed like both she and the show wanted more from her character.

Ferreira indicated that her departure was a “mutual decision” with the show’s creator, Sam Levinson, noting that she felt there was a disconnect between Levinson and her character. She expressed relief at moving on, saying, “At first, I was like, oh my gosh, I’m a failure, I’m a loser. It’s been really good.”
