EUR/USD Market Update
The EUR/USD currency pair is managing to maintain its position after three consecutive days of decline, hovering around 1.1610 during Friday’s Asian trading session. The 14-day Relative Strength Index (RSI) sits at 35, indicating a somewhat neutral bearish momentum, suggesting there’s a downside tendency.
Upon reviewing the daily charts, it’s clear that the pair is trading below both the 9-day and 50-day exponential moving averages (EMAs), which signals a bearish outlook. Interestingly, the short-term average is declining faster than the medium-term average, which is preventing any significant rebounds.
As the EUR/USD remains beneath its short-term moving average, the bearish sentiment continues. There are some downside risks particularly aimed at the support level around the six-week low, recorded on December 1 at 1.1589. If this level is breached, it could lead to targeting the next support at 1.1468, a figure not seen since August 2025.
Conversely, should the pair look to the upside, initial resistance can be found at the 9-day and 50-day EMAs positioned at 1.1648 and 1.1673. A bounce from these averages might relieve some of the pressure, potentially pushing the price towards the three-month high of 1.1808 reached on December 24, followed by a possible test of 1.1918, which was last seen in June 2021.
