Europe backs Zelenskyy over Trump following White House flare up

European leaders came out with the support of Ukrainian President Vooradymir Zelenki following an explosive oval office meeting in which President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance gave harsh responsibilities and accused him of being “disrespectful.”

Several leaders have supported Ukraine on social media, reminding Washington that Russian President Vladimir Putin is the “invader” of the Russian-Ukraine conflict and not Zelensky.

EU chief diplomat Kaja Karas had some of the most powerful words of responsibility for Trump, saying, “We will strengthen our support for Ukraine so that they can continue to fight back against the invaders.”

“Today, it has become clear that the free world needs a new leader,” she added. “It's up to us to take this challenge.”

France

“There are invaders: Russia. There are victims: Ukraine,” French President Emmanuel Macron just met with Trump this week in Washington, D.C., and said, “We were able to support Russia three years ago and help him continue doing so.”

“'We're going to mean Americans, Europeans, Canadians, Japanese and many others,” he added.

England

British Prime Minister Kia Starmer, who met with Trump again this week, has been openly silent following the geopolitical fallout leader Kemi Badenok, a leader of British Conservative Party, but has shown her support for Ukraine.

“Great diplomacy is essential to peace,” she said in a post in X.

“The divided West benefits Russia alone,” she continued. “The peace agreement must be negotiated with Ukraine at the table and security guarantees are required. We cannot lose sight of the fact that tonight's air raid sirens are reverberating in Ukraine.”

Here's the real reason Trump and Zelensky's deal exploded in an oval office

Norway

“What we see from the White House today is serious and discouraged,” Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gar Stole said in a statement, according to Reuters. “Ukraine still needs US support and its security and future is important for the US and Europe.”

“It's very unreasonable that Trump is accusing Zelensky of denounceing gambling in World War I, and a statement that I would distance myself from,” he said. “Norway stands with Ukraine in the struggle for freedom.”

Poland

“Dear Ukrainian friend, you are not alone,” said Polish Prime Minister Donald Tass in X.

Germany

Prime Minister Friedrich Merz, the new German conservative leader, said he wanted “independence” from the United States.

In particular, Trump and the strong nation, like Turkish Recep Erdogan and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, usually did not release official statements following the events of the day.

Russia

However, Russian officials have expressed their support for how the day unfolded.

Dmitry Medvedev, former Russian president and current vice-chairman of the Russian Security Council, took X to call Zelenskyy “the pig of the insurance company,” claiming he “gets the right slap in the oval office.”

“And Donald Trump is right. The Kiev administration is 'World War II and gambling,' he added.

Canada

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also threw his weight behind Ukraine, saying “Russia was illegally and unjustly invaded by Ukraine.”

“For three years, the Ukrainians have fought with courage and resilience,” he added, suggesting that NATO allies may bring Kiev backwards in Washington. “Their fight for democracy, freedom and sovereignty is a key battle for all of us. Canada stands with Ukrainians and Ukrainians to achieve just and lasting peace.”
