Georgia’s state legislature yesterday approved a second reading of a controversial “foreign agent” bill that has sparked a political crisis and mass protests.
According to Reuters, police fired tear gas and stun grenades to clear out large numbers of demonstrators opposing the bill.
Eleven people, including six police officers, were treated at hospitals after Wednesday’s altercation, according to the Georgia Department of Health.

Georgia suspends legislative session after mass protests
Georgia’s parliament has canceled a plenary session scheduled for today following mass protests over a “foreign agent” bill that has raised concerns that the country is moving away from democratic norms and closer to Russia. .
