Europe Must Be Ready to Defend Ukraine Without U.S. Help

In a speech to the nation on Wednesday evening, French President Emmanuel Macron said Europe should be ready to defend itself and Ukraine without the help of the US, a long-standing demand made by President Donald Trump.

Macron said France and other Europe could not “stay audiences” in the war in Ukraine and should seek dramatic remarriage so that it can protect the continent without America. The French leader said, “I want to believe the US will stay on our side,” but added, “If not, we need to be ready.”

“The future of Europe does not need to be decided in Washington or Moscow. The threat has returned to the east, ending the innocence of the last 30 years since the fall of the Berlin Wall,” Macron said. It has been declared Around Le Figaro.

Alongside British Prime Minister Kiel, Macron has made major calls to deploy pan-European peacekeeping forces in Ukraine. However, the UK and others in Europe have shown that such military operations should only be carried out with US support to assume their security.

The Trump administration argues that Ukraine's European peacekeeping mission should not be seen as an act of NATO as it could serve as a tripwire for a direct conflict between the two biggest nuclear forces of the world, the United States. Instead, the White House says that the economic alliance with Ukraine in the form of a massive mineral rights trade could serve as a deterrent against future Russian attacks.

Macron welcomed the recent move to peace launched by President Trump, but said, “The road to peace cannot pass the abandonment of Ukraine. Peace cannot be concluded under the Russian dictator at any cost. Peace is not the surrender of Ukraine.”

Citing the failure of the 2014 European-led Minsk agreement, the French president said the deal between Kiev and Moscow “does not lead to a fragile ceasefire.” Macron argued that Ukraine's security is essential to the safety of other parts of Europe.

Pointing to the Kremlin's plan to significantly increase the production of the war economy of arms, tanks and jets controlled by the Russians, Macron said: Russia will be a threat to France and Europe for years to come. ”

To that end, the French president said he believes he is presumed to be the German Prime Minister and other prime ministers as French nuclear weapons as deterrents in other parts of Europe. He also called on his government to develop a plan to cultivate the country religiously to promote a reduction in dependence and dependence on other countries within the supply chain.

Therefore, you need to make a big investment in defense. Macron said it could be funded without raising taxes through private investment and “reform” of French government spending. However, it remains to be seen whether Macron can pilot the national ship as Paris politics remained deeply broken, with three governments falling last year and the Parliament collapsed with effective tripartite division.

While a speech from Macron on Wednesday was critical of President Trump, including the planned imposition of tariffs on the European Union to remedy the massive trade deficit in the US and the European Union's tariffs and trade barriers, the driving force behind the French president's speech lined up with Trump's long orders to fund its own defense rather than relying on the general taxation of the US and US forces.

Back in his first term at the White House, President Trump is deeply critical of European allies not fulfilling their NATO spending obligations and instead supports funding luxury welfare programs.

The new pressure from the second President Trump has also announced countries like Germany, long punch bags for Trump, new defence spending measures, and also announced partner parties in the coalition, which are expected to form Berlin's next government. I agree This week we will overhaul the “debt brake” to fund trillion euros ($1.08 trillion) of defense and infrastructure investments.

Similarly, the European Union announcement This week, we plan to change spending rules to allow member states to invest more in the military. The heads of the 27 EU countries are scheduled to meet for a special session of the Council of Europe in Brussels on Thursday.
