Eva Longoria to campaign for Biden in Phoenix

Eva Longoria is headlining a campaign event in Phoenix aimed at providing a star-studded push to mobilize Latino voters for President Biden’s re-election bid.

A group of mothers and young Latinos will also attend Monday’s rally featuring the “Flamin’ Hot” director in the battleground state of Arizona, a campaign official told ITK.

The purpose of the event, according to the Biden campaign, is to “highlight the importance of Arizona’s Latinos of all generations in urging their families and communities to cancel.” [former President] Trump has demonized Latinos throughout his political career, pursuing policies that are particularly devastating to Latino families. ”

This is not the first time Mr. Longoria has tried to use his platform to boost a Democratic presidential candidate.

In 2012, he served as one of several national co-chairs of then-President Obama’s re-election campaign.

Longoria ran against Mike Pence in the 2016 White House race, and in a video released by the Democratic National Committee, the then-Republican vice presidential candidate said Democrats had “knocked out the Mexican thing.” In response to his remarks, Mexicans said, “It’s not something.” Also. The 49-year-old Texas-born former “Desperate Housewives” star also spoke at the 2016 and 2020 Democratic National Conventions.

Last year, the Bidens hosted a screening of Longoria’s directorial debut, “Flamin’ Hot,” at the White House.

A poll released last month found that Mr. Trump’s favorability ratings among Latinos are increasing, while Mr. Biden’s approval ratings are declining. Biden’s favorability rating among Latinos has fallen 6 points since last summer, from 47 percent in June 2023 to 41 percent last month, according to an Axios/Ipsos poll. President Trump’s favorability ratings among Latinos rose from 29% to 32% during the same period.
