NFL’s New Uniforms for 2025: A Ranking

The NFL has really stepped up its game with throwback and alternative uniforms lately. With the Seahawks bringing back the Prowler Yunis and the Buccaneers reviving the Creamsicle look, there’s a buzz around these classic designs. Looking ahead to 2025, teams like the Washington Commanders, Los Angeles Chargers, and New Orleans Saints have their new looks ready to impress—or perhaps not. So, how do these uniforms compare? Let’s rank them as we head into the new season.

First up, the Buccaneers have once again gone with a retro vibe, returning to the classic Creamsicle from 1976. Honestly, I dig these more than the previous orange jerseys they’ve sported. The combination of orange with the white jersey is just right, and that helmet logo? Fantastic. It really makes me think the Buccaneers might just have the best overall uniform set in the league.

2. Los Angeles Chargers All Navy Uniform

These uniforms take me back to simpler times—like when I used to watch games with my family, the Chargers sporting their navy on Sunday afternoons while we munched on snacks. There’s something clean about this look, and the lightning bolts on the sides? Spot on. It just feels right.

3. Washington Commanders Intersection

Now, it’s a bit tricky to revive an old jersey style for the Commanders without tapping into their past names, but I think they’ve done a commendable job. I really like the outline of the numbers, which stand out beautifully, and the classic helmet stripes add a nice touch. Overall, a solid homage.

4. Los Angeles Chargers All-Yellow Alternates

And here we go. I have to say, these may take some getting used to. The yellow is… well, let’s just say it’s very bright. It’s different, which is cool, but I need to see it in action to really form an opinion. It just feels a bit overwhelming, perhaps too bold for my taste at first glance.

5. Green Bay Packers Alternative

There’s a bit of a déjà vu moment here—like when I imagine the Bears looking over the Packers’ shoulders for style tips. It’s obvious, but then again, not exactly subtle.

6. Pittsburgh Steelers Throwback Uniform

Sometimes, it might be best to leave certain designs in the past. These throwbacks serve as good examples of that notion. They’re nice but don’t necessarily need to come back.

7. Alternate New Orleans Saints Uniforms

Honestly, these just don’t work for me. The gold on the jersey doesn’t even match the gold on the helmet! It’s a bit jarring. Typically, I’m a fan of the Saints’ black and gold combo, but this just misses the mark. Mixing up the gold hues is a no-go for me—we need to set some sort of standard when it comes to uniform colors, right?
