Evaluating every 2026 trade made before the NBA deadline

The 2026 NBA trade deadline is shaping up with many possibilities. Unlike a decade or two ago, the league doesn’t have a few dominant teams. Nowadays, balance is key, making it really tough for any team to repeat as champions. As the NBA Draft Lottery approaches, some teams are looking to contend, while others are focused on building for the future, so the trade deadline could be thrilling up until the last moment.

Could Luka Doncic pull off a trade that captures everyone’s attention, similar to last year’s Lakers deal? That’s likely contingent on whether Giannis Antetokounmpo gets traded. There’s a lineup of teams that could offer a strong package for him, yet it’s also reasonable for Milwaukee to want to keep him happy and onboard.

You can keep track of every trade detail in our trade tracker. Plus, take a sneak peek at our 2026 mock draft for scouting prospects. Whenever an NBA trade is finalized, we’ll break it down right here, so feel free to refresh this post for dynamic analysis on each deal.

Celtics vs. Bulls, Trade Anfernee Simons for Nikola Vucevic

Boston Celtics have acquired Nikola Vucevic from the Chicago Bulls in exchange for Anfernee Simons and a 2026 second-round pick from the New Orleans Pelicans.

By trading Nikola Vucevic, the Bulls seem to have acknowledged that their chances for a play-in spot are dwindling. They really could have found their rhythm earlier in the season, but I’d say it’s better late than never. Simons had a solid run in Boston as a high-volume shooter, making over 40% of his threes, but the Celtics needed a seasoned big man to open up the floor and enhance their rebounding to secure a playoff spot. Vucevic fits the bill perfectly. Chicago did well to get something valuable in return for a second-round pick.

Blazers Acquire Vit Kureishi from Hawks

Portland has acquired Vit Krejci from Atlanta in exchange for Duop Reese and their second-round picks in 2027 and 2030.

Krejci stands at 6’8″ and has the ability to handle the ball and shoot effectively. At just 25 years old, he’s enjoying his best season yet, hitting 41.6% of his three-point attempts, averaging 5.2 shots from beyond the arc in only 22 minutes per game. The Blazers need more shooting options on the wing, so this seems like a smart, low-risk acquisition.

Wizards Acquire Anthony Davis from Mavericks

The Wizards have picked up Anthony Davis, Jaden Hardy, D’Angelo Russell, and Dante Exum from the Mavericks, along with Khris Middleton, AJ Johnson, Malachi Branham, Marvin Bagley III, two first-round picks, and three second-round picks.
