Eve wrote, “I honestly don't know why I lied to everyone on set and told them my appendix had burst. I think maybe I was lying to myself.”

“I wasn't sure two weeks would be enough time to heal emotionally after facing the prospect of losing a baby,” she continued. “In the end, I barely had enough time to heal physically before going back on set.”

The Grammy winner spoke about the weight she lost after her surgery, describing herself as “frail” and “in denial of reality.”

She added: “At times I would do whatever it took to show up to work and get the job done, even if it was to my detriment. For years I hadn't grieved the loss of my first baby. I didn't know how to do it, but I eventually learned.”

Eventually, Eve not only forgave herself, but also “spoke to the baby and acknowledged its existence.”

“I needed to know that what happened wasn't my fault, that I deserved to be a mother, and that I was ready to bring a baby onto this earth,” she wrote.
