Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Florida told Fox News Digital that if President Biden withdraws from the presidential race and is replaced before the Democratic National Convention, a new candidate would have little impact on former President Donald Trump’s chances of retaking the White House this November.
“definitely, [Democrats] If they try to get rid of him, we’ll see who takes his place. I think it’s important for Republicans to understand that this is happening right now. There’s momentum in the convention this week, but this race is not over yet. [until] “I’m not a Republican. I’m not a Democrat …,” Greene said at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee in November.
“If we replace Joe Biden with a new candidate, that could completely change. But we have the right policies. We have the right plan in place for the Republican Party. [to] Win,” she added.
At the Republican National Convention this week, Democrats have stepped up calls for Biden to withdraw from the race, with Rep. Adam Schiff of California joining the chorus of traditional allies calling for the president to cede power ahead of a campaign against former President Trump.

“While it is President Biden’s choice whether to withdraw from the campaign trail, I believe the time has come to hand the baton to the president,” Schiff said.

Greene told Fox Digital that even if Biden were to withdraw and be replaced by another Democrat, it wouldn’t affect Trump’s candidacy, arguing that the Biden administration’s record would be a blemish on whoever enters the race.
“Whoever comes out on top needs to run on the jobs record that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have delivered over the last few years, because Democrats are totally on board with those policies,” Green said.

“After watching the attempted assassination of President Trump on Saturday, I think America has really come together and decided to support President Trump and the Republican Party. Just like 9/11, it’s a moment that everyone will always remember. Everyone will remember where they were when it happened. I also think people are really tired of the border invasions that are happening every day. The fact that people can’t afford food, rent and are struggling with inflation is really hurting a lot of people,” she said.

Biden has so far brushed off calls to withdraw, but reports are circulating that he is increasingly considering withdrawing from the 2024 race.
“Our campaign is not operating under a scenario where President Biden is not the top candidate. He is and will continue to be the Democratic nominee,” Biden deputy campaign manager Quentin Fulks told reporters at a news conference near the campaign site on Thursday morning.
