Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-NJ) expressed on MSNBC’s “weekday night” that with President Donald Trump, “no one is safe” as he has “weaponized law enforcement.”
She recounted the arrest of Mayor Las Barak of New Ark at Delaney Hall Detention Center.
Watson Coleman mentioned, “Even though we had the authority to be present, all the highest-level ICE officials in New Jersey showed up at the detention facilities, even while we were just waiting.”
She added, “They arrested him, placed him in cuffs, and brought him to this facility. We’ve been here since, trying to secure his release. Donald Trump uses law enforcement against us, and we worry that they won’t respect any of us, no matter our position.”
“This isn’t America. To see him here, with his wife and mother, only to handcuff the mayor of New Jersey’s largest city and take away his mother’s faith is troubling,” Watson Coleman remarked.
