AI chip manufacturing giant Nvidia recently announced plans to build new AI plants in Dallas and Houston. These plans fully represent important advances in the production of AI supercomputers within the United States.
Among them announcementNvidia has revealed plans to partner with Wistron in Dallas and Foxconn in Houston. Other partners include TSMC, Amkor and Spil. Westron It is a Taiwanese information and communications technology company headquartered in Taipei. foxconn It is the world’s largest electronics manufacturer focused on research and development.
The announcement illustrates Nvidia’s latest steps in its long-term plan to generate $50 trillion in AI infrastructure over the next few years. The move highlights the growing driving force for moving critical high-tech manufacturing into US soil amid rising global tensions and increasing demand for safe domestic supply chains.
Nvidia’s AI supercomputers, known as the “new type of data center engine,” are expected to serve as a hub for AI manufacturing, all based in the US. The TSMC factory in Arizona is already producing Blackwell chips, but these new factories are the first of “dozens of Gigawatt AI factories” that are expected to be built in the near future.
Jensen, founder and CEO of Nvidia Han“The world’s AI infrastructure engine is being built in the US for the first time,” he continues, “by adding American manufacturing, we will meet the incredible demand for AI chips and supercomputers, strengthen our supply chain and increase our resilience.”
As Huang explained to him Keynote speech At last month’s GTC 2025 conference, the next step in AI manufacturing is scale and efficiency. One solution to the large-scale logistics challenges associated with this type of manufacturing in these “AI Giga Factory” is the “digital twin” model. “Using digital twins, we communicate instructions to large bodies of teams and suppliers, reducing execution errors. Essentially, digital twins are computer copies of factories and their millions of parts, allowing clear communication across the supply chain, and “what if” scaling experiments are easy to use.
Huang also announced that the next generation of chips will play an increasingly important role in rolling out and scaling these new US-based GigaFactories and AI SuperComputers. This chip is called the Belarubin Super Chip, named after an astronomer who discovered dark matter. As he indicated at his address, this tip is dramatically efficient and inexpensive. It also represents a leap towards sustainability, consuming much less energy than its predecessor. This is important to strengthen the next wave of industry-wide generation and inference AI and machine learning applications.
In a statement, the White House I insisted Credit to this onshoring trend in manufacturing: “It’s the Trump effect in action.” The statement said, “Overviewing these industries is good for American workers, good for the American economy, good for the American national security – and the best hasn’t come yet.” The administration emphasized that such investments lay the foundation for a new industrial revolution centered around American technological control.
