Evidence suggests Democrats are manipulating crime statistics before the midterm elections.

Officials from Trump’s Justice Department have been examining crime statistics lately, uncovering suggestions that Democratic leaders might be manipulating these numbers for political gain ahead of the upcoming midterm elections, according to reports.

Illinois Democratic Governor J.B. Pritzker, who has been a strong critic of Trump’s federal interventions against crime and immigration, recently announced that crime in Chicago has reportedly dropped significantly. He claimed that certain areas have seen reductions in freeway shootings and homicides by as much as 60 to 80 percent.

However, cities like Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, and Portland are experiencing a decline in felony numbers largely because, as insiders say, progressive prosecutors are opting to downgrade serious felonies to lesser charges for political motivations.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is highlighted as a key figure in this trend, as he continues to allow violent offenders to face misdemeanor charges instead of felonies, even after incidents of robbery and assault.

A recent case involving David Mazariegos, who was arrested last week for allegedly killing a subway passenger, illustrates this issue. Mazariegos, with a lengthy criminal background, had his bail reduced earlier this year after a judge accepted misdemeanor charges rather than felony ones, due to the nature of the prosecution’s approach.

People within Trump’s Justice Department argue that Mazariegos represents a broader pattern observed in cities governed by left-leaning officials who are seemingly concealing the fallout of lenient policing policies.

According to one anonymous official, “If these public leaders were CEOs who intentionally falsified losses to boost profits, they would likely face severe fraud charges.”

A spokesperson from the White House did not provide any comments regarding this situation, and there was no response from the Manhattan DA’s office when contacted.

Escape from the blue city

Upcoming crime statistics from the Justice Department could serve as a crucial alert for Democrats.

The economic health of these major cities might continue to decline as tax-paying residents move to safer regions.

Moreover, it may be essential for Democratic leaders to muster the resolve to push back against progressive demands from far-left elements within the party.

Justice Department sources suggest that Pritzker’s remarks could be part of a larger effort among national Democrats to mask the adverse impacts related to support for police defunding in order to please social justice proponents who argue that policing is inherently racist.

In the interim, perhaps there’s hope that changing public sentiment could help Democrats regain control in the House and Senate during the next midterms.

It’s worth noting that even the statistics mentioned by Democrats indicate a troubling rise in violent crime when analyzed thoroughly.

Take New York City’s felony data as an example: recently, Mayor Adams’ police chief, Jessica Tisch, highlighted historic lows in various crime categories according to the NYPD’s reports.

“Citywide homicides have decreased more than 17.7% this year (241 compared to 293). Robberies are down 3.8% (9,410 compared to 9,783). Felony assaults have seen a nominal drop of 0.8% (22,389 compared to 22,580),” she stated in a press release.

While no one doubts Tisch’s intentions or efforts, the crime wave that escalated following the 2020 social justice movement, under former Mayor Bill de Blasio’s oversight, created challenges like restrictive policing policies.

Even with de Blasio’s departure and a former police officer taking the reins, Tisch’s ability to address crime effectively is still limited.

This limitation partly stems from Bragg’s decision to avoid pursuing full felony charges against offenders like David Mazariegos.

scary data

Meanwhile, Fox Business’ Teuta Devkai has reviewed additional data from the NYPD’s site regarding serious crimes such as murder, sexual assault, robbery, and grand larceny, revealing that what might appear as acceptable crime rates are still concerning.

From 2020 to 2023, the number of reported crimes has consistently risen each year.

While there has been a decline in 2024, crime levels are still significantly elevated compared to 2013—the last year of Michael Bloomberg’s term and marking the start of the decline that followed Rudy Giuliani’s crime policies.

As Zoran Mamdani, with a reputation for hostility towards police, aims to reinstate policies reminiscent of past administrations while he campaigns for mayor, it’s likely that crime will increase, prompting more people to leave New York City and revealing a disconnect between the Democratic Party’s narrative and reality.
