Dibo Samuel is betting on the commander.
After the star receiver requested a deal from the 49ers, he provided the agent with a list of five teams he wanted to land.
Among them was Washington. Washington swooped this month, sending San Francisco for a fifth pick and reworking Samuel's contract.
The 2019 second round pick saw many wins with the 49ers and took part in the Super Bowl in 2020 and 2024.
Nationally, Samuel noticed an upward group that reached the NFC Championship behind Jaden Daniels' rookie quarterback.
“I like winners. I like winning. I'm not one of your biggest losers,” Samuel told reporters on a video conference call Thursday. “They went to the NFC Championship. I know. [Commanders GM] Adam Peters for a while. And…it's near the house. ”
The South Carolina native made his name for himself as a severe physical threat with the 49ers.

Now in 29 years, Samuel's figures fell when he recorded 1,405 receiving yards since the 2021 Pro Bowl season.
Reporters covering the 49ers recently suggested that he was overweight this past season. Samuel essentially confirmed in a tweet that he played at 225 pounds.
After a deal and rework, Samuel, who signed a walk-year deal this year that he will add incentives to guarantee $17 million, is excited about this season and the type of player the commander will see.
“One thing, they have a motivated Divo,” he said. “Second, you're going to take your dog here. I'm ready to come here and do my job.”
