Former Democratic National Committee Chair Donna Brazile expressed dissatisfaction with the media coverage of President Biden on ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday, complaining that no one is “listening” to what the president is saying. .
Mr. Brazile’s candid remarks came during a discussion about U.S. policy toward Israel when he was asked whether Mr. Biden needed to be more candid with Americans about the war in Gaza.
“That’s right. It’s not just Israel or Ukraine. We’re a superpower. He’s the commander in chief. Absolutely, he should say more,” she urged, seemingly attacking the media. .
“Also, we need to cover what he is talking about, because often when he speaks, no one listens.”

Mr. Brazile’s comments followed several reports detailing the White House’s dissatisfaction with media reports about Mr. Biden’s age and cognitive abilities.
A political reporter in Washington who has covered President Biden said many journalists are growing tired of the “nagging and complaining” coming from the administration.
“The White House and campaign’s ‘memo’ to the media criticizing our reporting is a joke to any serious reporter,” he told Fox News Digital.

Fox News contributor Joe Concha responded to Brazile’s comments, arguing that Biden’s story is so scripted and “lacks credibility” that “no one will listen.”
That was the experience of former ESPN host Sage Steele, who recently revealed that her 2021 interview with Biden was completely “scripted” by network executives.
”[I] “They said, ‘Say every word we wrote out, don’t deviate from the script, just go,'” she said in an interview with Fox News Digital.
But Concha argued that since Biden is prone to gaffes, being outspoken won’t necessarily make things better.
“And when he speaks off-the-cuff, it is sometimes or often awkward, confusing, or patently insincere; [communications] The team needs to clean aisles 5, 17 and 26,” he added.
Either way, the American people need to hear from Biden, Concha insisted, adding that Biden should do live interviews with real journalists instead of sitting down with celebrities.

“Or he might do a 45-minute to hour press conference. We haven’t seen anything like that this year or in months leading up to 2023. So if his handlers hold him for this long, If you want to hide that, I think that’s OK, but Americans, people want to hear from a president, a human being, Joe Biden, and they want to actually hear the answers that come out of his head, not a teleprompter. ,” he said.
But that is unlikely to happen before the November election, he argued.
