Former ESPN personality and columnist Jemele Hill mocked Mahomes for the incident, posting a meme from the children's cartoon show “Arthur,” which shows the character Arthur Reid clenching his fist.
Mahomes has been embroiled in a social media controversy over President Trump after she apparently “liked” a post about the 2024 Republican Party platform last month, from which she received intense backlash but refused to back down, causing the controversy to snowball.

Her social media activity has led many to speculate that it could cause a rift between Mahomes and Swift, who are often seen cheering on their partners at Chiefs games. Last Thursday night, the pair were spotted not even sitting in the same suite, further fueling the rumors.
Those fears were eased on Sunday when Swift and Mahomes shared a hug in the U.S. Open box.
Meanwhile, Trump didn't seem surprised by Swift's support during an appearance on “Fox & Friends” on Wednesday morning.
