Ex-GOP Rising Star Mark Robinson Acknowledges Porn Addiction, Claims He 'Overlooked The Truth' During Campaign

Mark Robinson Discusses Personal Struggles in Podcast

In a podcast that aired on Thursday, former North Carolina Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson opened up about his ongoing battle with pornography and sexual obsession. He admitted that he concealed this issue during his 2024 gubernatorial race in an effort to shield those close to him.

During a conversation on his podcast, “After the Call,” with Pastor Josh Hall, Robinson spoke honestly about his challenges, revealing that his compulsive behavior started at a young age.

“I can’t pinpoint where that fascination came from, but it was always there as I grew up, this obsession with porn and sex,” Robinson shared with Hall.

He linked these behaviors to feelings of personal inadequacy.

“When you’re not living up to who you should be and you realize you’re not playing that role, you often find other ways to fill that void. Some turn to alcohol or drugs, and for me, it was women and other physical pleasures,” he explained.

In 2024, CNN reported that Robinson had made a series of provocative and explicit remarks on a pornographic site more than a decade ago, including self-identifying as a “black Nazi” and advocating for the reinstatement of slavery. Usernames tied to him also suggested that he had an interest in transgender pornography.

After CNN’s exposé, Robinson refuted the claims and initiated a $50 million lawsuit against the network. He has since admitted to making the posts, stating that his actions were a “battlefield” response aimed at protecting others.

“I’m not claiming I was entirely dishonest. Some elements of the story are true. However, I wanted to distance myself from those parts. The best course of action for those around me was to keep fighting. It felt right at the time, even if it meant glossing over some truths for their sake. I thought we could handle it later, but I never wanted to be the person who jeopardized a presidential election,” Robinson remarked.
