Ex-Jill Biden press secretary reveals transparency problems in Biden administration

During a recent chat with a news outlet, Michael Larosa, who has ties to Biden’s family, discussed the culture of secrecy that he observed in the previous administration. Speaking on the Fox & Friends Weekend show, he pointed out that those close to the former president often avoided transparency throughout his time in office.

Larosa remarked, “This is a White House group that is allergic to transparency, and I’m referring specifically to the East Wing.” He recalled that on his very first day in the White House, he encountered issues when an Usher was let go and that direct answers were hard to come by, which complicated interactions with reporters.

He has been a spokesperson for the First Lady, Jill Biden, from 2021 to 2022. While discussing recent audio footage acquired by the news outlet, he clarified he didn’t intend to question Biden’s fitness for office but highlighted the administration’s reluctance to be open, particularly regarding handling sensitive matters like classified documents.

“What I’m suggesting is that being transparent didn’t come easily to them,” he noted. “They took ages to consider every little detail—even things like dog bites.” This implies that transparency was simply not part of their modus operandi.

He added, “If they struggled with dishing out basic information, then it makes you wonder how they’d handle significant issues.” In spite of the challenges he mentioned, LaRosa speculated that revealing the cognitive challenges Biden faced earlier wouldn’t necessarily have barred him from the 2024 race.
