Ex-judges claim Trump administration is undermining the judiciary

A group of over 150 former judges has expressed their disapproval of the Trump administration, claiming it’s been conducting “attacks” on the judiciary. They addressed a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondy, highlighting their concern.

In the letter, these former state and federal judges criticized the administration, particularly referencing the recent arrest of Judge Hannah Dugan from Milwaukee County Circuit Court. Reports suggest that Dugan allegedly assisted undocumented immigrants in evading arrest.

As a consequence of these events, the Wisconsin Supreme Court has placed Judge Dugan on temporary leave from her judicial responsibilities.

The former judges argued that this situation reflects an ongoing effort to intimidate the judiciary, drawing attention to various rulings made by judges appointed by different presidential administrations that they believe uphold constitutional standards.

They went on to claim that the Justice Department, under the current administration, has orchestrated a spectacle that not only includes the arrest of Judge Dugan and FBI Director Kash Patel, but also shared images of a “Perp Walk” on social media.

The FBI arrested Judge Dugan, alleging that she interfered with the apprehension of an undocumented individual.

Attempts to reach the Department of Justice for comments were met with silence before publication.

President Trump’s agenda for a potential second term has faced some hurdles due to these judicial challenges, and he has openly expressed frustration, stating he plans to voice complaints about the judiciary.

During a recent post on a social platform, Trump remarked, “Our legal system is hindering my ability to fulfill my responsibilities. Activist judges have undermined the Trump administration and continue to act outside the law!”
