Ex-Marlin responds to Jazz Chisholm’s criticism: ‘You don’t even know me’

Miami Marlins star Jazz Chisholm gutted the team’s clubhouse with one of his former teammates during his first few years with the team.

Chisholm said the “team captain,” whom many believe to be Miguel Rojas, “was not a good person… He dragged down young players who were supposed to be good people.”

The comment went viral, and even Rojas, now a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers, heard it.

“Everyone is entitled to their own opinion,” Rojas said on “Chris Rose Rotation.”

“Whatever you want to say about me as a player, it’s fine to have that opinion, but when you say I’m a bad person when you don’t even know me, it bothers me a little bit.

“I don’t expect everyone to like me and I don’t expect everyone to like me, but that doesn’t mean I can go out in the clubhouse and tell everyone what’s going on in the clubhouse,” Rojas continued. Ta. “As a professional, you have to understand that you have to respect everyone in that clubhouse. When you come to one place and you get to a new place, there are people who were there before you. There are people, there are rules in place.’ Then someone will hold you accountable. ”

As the Marlins head into 2024, Chisholm praised manager Skip Shoemaker for changing the culture in the clubhouse. Shoemaker replaced Don Mattingly last year, and Miami reached the postseason for the first time since 2020 despite losing in the National League wild card.
