Prosecutors say the incident began in 2015, when the victim was 14 and Curtis was 22.
The student volunteered in an after-school program run by Curtis, and the two were often alone together.
An investigation revealed that the sexual assaults took place over several months and finally ended in April 2015. The assaults also occurred at various locations, including at school, inside Curtis' car and at Curtis' mother's home in Montgomery County.

Court documents also allege that Curtis gave the victim alcohol and marijuana and had sex with the teenage girl, who was in eighth grade, more than 20 times.
Investigators obtained a warrant for Curtis' arrest on October 31, 2023, charging him with sexual abuse of a minor and multiple third- and fourth-degree sex crimes.

The sex crimes occurred in 2015, but a Montgomery County Public Schools spokesperson told the department that Curtis left the district in 2017.
