A former contestant in the Miss Universe pageant tragically died earlier this week in an odd accident involving a caribou, according to reports.
Kseniya Alexandrova, who was just 30, sustained critical brain injuries while traveling with her husband in Russia’s Tver Oblast on July 5. A large elk unexpectedly crashed through the windshield of their car. Reports indicate she was in the passenger seat of a Porsche Panamera when the animal collided with them.
While her husband managed to survive, Alexandrova faced severe trauma that left her in a coma until her death on Friday.
“From the moment it happened, I just froze. I didn’t even know what to do,” her husband recounted in an interview. “The elk hit the car, and it struck her head. She was out cold, and there was blood everywhere,” he said.
The heartbroken husband mentioned that the damage to his wife’s skull was devastating.
According to her modeling agency, Alexandrova passed away on August 15, following over a month in a deep coma.
Interestingly, the couple had only married four months before this unfortunate event. Their social media profiles reflect this joy. Although Alexandrova participated in the Miss Universe 2017 contest in Las Vegas, she did not reach the top 16 semi-finals.
