On Thursday, authorities found Cunningham dead in his New Jersey home.

Clifton police said they were called to Cunningham’s home around 1:15 p.m. after not hearing from his family.

A spokeswoman said police “found the victim deceased” after forcing entry, adding: “There are no signs of criminal activity at this time.”

The spokesperson also said that an investigation into the cause of death is ongoing and the cause of death has not been disclosed at this time.

The New York Giants released a statement sending their thoughts and prayers to Cunningham’s loved ones.

“We are saddened to hear of the passing of Corey Cunningham,” the Giants wrote. “He was an integral part of the spirit and camaraderie in the locker room. Our thoughts are with Corey’s family, friends and teammates.”

He was also a college player at Cincinnati, but was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

He played for the Giants, Cardinals, and New England Patriots during his career. He hasn’t played in the NFL since being released by the Giants last year.
