Ex-NFL player training for a comeback … while in prison for vehicular manslaughter

Former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Henry Laggs III reportedly trains NFL comeback training behind a prison bar.

In the 2020 former round draft pick, Laggs was found guilty of driving a one-count under the influence that caused death and one count of vehicle manslaughter in 2021.

According to the judicial transaction CBS Sportsfirst fees, 36-120 months for felony, and a second charge of six more months for a misdemeanor.

Lag was eligible for parole in August 2026 and reportedly allocated time to exercise for a potential return to the NFL while in prison.

Interestingly, the revelation comes not from Ruggs himself, but from the Green Bay Packers, who run through Josh Jacobs. Pro Bowl Rush said he was a teammate in Alabama and that he was in touch with Laggs.

“I'm still going to talk to Henry. Henry still calls me. I'm still going to help him. …We're still connected. I know the whole family. He's from Alabama. He says, “I'm playing with me at Bama.

Jacobs, 27, said Ruggs is training in prison and is calling in hopes of getting help in reaching some teams at the time of release.

“He's positive about everything. He's training. They're going to have him train and do something like that, so 'I don't know if you'll get a chance when you come out.' I've been talking to some people for him. They want to give him a chance.

“He's a good girl. He's never had a problem. I've never seen him do anything crazy.”

Jacobs, as expected, tried to rug with a positive light, describing the imprisoned player as “family earners” who have changed the lives of their families.

“There were a few words [of his family]and I just said, “Man, you've come to understand like a family's earner. He's changing everything in y'all's life. Everyone.”

“And not only that, he's a good kid. He's never had any trouble. I've never seen him do anything crazy.” “He had a very unfortunate situation and was one of them that had something happened and the decision he made. That hurt me the most.

The Laggs played for the Raiders in 2020 and 2021, recording 921 yards with four touchdowns in 20 games. The 26-year-old also made 11 kick-return attempts with the team.

When Laggs signed his rookie contract in 2020, he averaged a salary of $4.17 million and a signing bonus of $9.68 million.
His entire $16 million contract was guaranteed at the time of signing.
