“First of all, this is unfortunate for Lachie, because I know him well and he’s old enough to know better. So I’m angry at him.” said Johnson. “I’ve already texted him, and he doesn’t reply to me because my texts weren’t good. I spent a lot of time with him last year before the draft and the draft process We did it all here in Los Angeles and Dallas.”It’s also to help him understand that life is about to begin.

“Coming into the draft, he had a little red flag here, a little red flag there. He wasn’t the most squeaky clean guy. They know how to deal with a little bit of a difficult situation.”

Mr. Johnson pointed to the Henry Ruggs situation. The former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver was sentenced to three to 10 years in prison for a 2021 drunken fatality.

“Because at the end of the day, all you need to do is this (snaps fingers). That’s all you need to do a few years ago. I knew that. I tried to tell him the same thing. You…” “That can’t be…not right now. You can’t pass in certain situations like you did in college.”

Johnson said he doesn’t know if Rice was driving, but “I suspect someone stole his car.”

“But if he’s involved in it, it’s the stupidest thing he’s ever been involved in, let alone drive a fast car or race anyone. Yo, hey.”
