Former New York State Republican Governor George Pataki has endorsed former NYPD Police Officer Alison Esposito as the Republican candidate to run against first-term Democratic Rep. Pat Ryan in the Hudson Valley’s 18th Congressional District.
Esposito, who was Republican gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin’s 2022 lieutenant governor candidate, may first have to beat his rival in the Republican primary. Lovelyn Gwyn Confront Ryan.
“At a time when New York demands real leadership and integrity, Allison is a beacon of hope and resilience,” Pataki said Monday.
“Through her incredible 25-year tenure with the NYPD, she not only protected our city, but exemplified the spirit of duty and courage that defines New York,” said Pataki, who has roots in the Hudson Valley. “He gave me a lot of attention,” he said.
“I am honored to receive the support of Governor George Pataki. He has led New York through some of our most difficult times and provided exemplary leadership for our state and country in times of need,” Esposito said. Ta.

Esposito, who lives in Goshen, retired from the NYPD as a lieutenant and commander of the 70th Precinct in Brooklyn.
Ryan, a former Ulster County executive, is a graduate of West Point Military Academy and served on two Army tours in Iraq. He is running for his second, two-year term.
