Former Rep. George Santos (R-N.Y.) went after former members of Congress on Saturday, asking them whether they would draft a resolution to expel Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Texas).
“Hey @RitchieTorres, are you going to draft a resolution to expel Henry Cuellar? Or is that just for Republicans flipping seats?” Santos Said In a post on social platform X addressed to Congressman Ritchie Torres (New York). “An inquisitive mind wants to know.”
Back in February of last year, U.S. Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) and Rep. Torres, Rep. Dan Goldman (D-New York), Rep. Becca Balint (D-Vermont), and Rep. Eric Sorensen (D-Ill.) ) and announced a resolution to expel Santos. Santos was expelled from the House of Representatives later that year, becoming the sixth lawmaker to be ousted from the chamber.

Mr. Cuellar and his wife were indicted on Friday on charges of bribery and money laundering of approximately $600,000.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) indictment discusses payments that the Texas Democrat allegedly received through an Azerbaijani government-owned oil company and a Mexican bank.
“The bribe payments are suspected to have been laundered through a series of front companies and intermediaries to a shell company owned by Imelda Cuellar, pursuant to bogus consulting contracts, with Cuellar performing little or no legitimate work under the contracts. “The Department of Justice did not do so,” the Department of Justice said in a press release. Indictment in the Southern District of Texas.
“My wife and I are innocent of these allegations,” Cuellar said in a statement from his campaign.
“Everything I did in Congress was to serve the people of South Texas,” he said.
